Renee Bailey. PCOS, T2 Diabetes, Weight Management

Renee Bailey, Clinical Nutritionist, Owner @ Defining Health, Australia.

Degree qualified Clinical Nutritionist using scientifically-based nutritional lifestyle medicine. I have a special interest in Women’s Health and I take the time to help discover the root cause of your ongoing health issues, not just treat the symptoms, so you can become the healthiest, happiest version of you.

I know what it feels like to be overwhelmed exhausted and just feeling “not right”! You consult numerous doctor’s and specialists who never have the time to get to the bottom of what is causing your health issues. You’re told “The tests are normal”… You hear people saying “It’s just getting older” or “This is how you feel as you age, just get on with it”. They just don’t get it! I do “GET IT”, I know this is not what you should feel like for the rest of your life, I have the knowledge, time and focus to see through all the test results, the symptoms, the emotions, the history and put it all together.

The office is conveniently located in Ashgrove (Brisbane - Queensland). Can’t make it into the office, live interstate or outside of Australia? No worries - appointments are available via Telehealth, so wherever you are, you can still access heath care that’s right for you!

MICHAEL BAZLINTON. METABOLIC DISEASES, DIABETES, SLEEP

Michael Bazlinton, MBCHB MRCGP AFMCP. Physician - family medicine, Founder at bodymapping clinic.

My name is Dr. Michael Bazlinton. I am the father of two great kids and 43 years old. I am married to the amazingly talented Mrs. B. I qualified as an NHS GP in 2006 gaining the MRCGP in 2007. The past 10 years has been a rollercoaster ride; huge challenges and great privileges as people share their most vulnerable selves.

However, in September 2017 the time came to reduce my NHS commitments and start to look for other avenues; to avoid personal burnout and find a new passion for helping others with their own challenges. The idea of the bodymapping clinic was born; not private GP as I still believe what I do in the NHS can’t be replaced like for like; I still have a lot to give there.

What I want to create is a wellness service; to engage with those who want to avoid ill health, to reach out to those who feel they are slipping into ill health despite their best efforts. A wellness service that does not call upon drugs and quick fixes but instead turns to an individualised and personalized understanding of ourselves and the world we find ourselves in.

I believe this requires a better understanding of sleep, rest, nutrition, the microbiome, stress, exercise and physical movement

So how should we do health and wellness better? I believe that it requires us to take a measure of ourselves; to take stock of our life’s path to date, and then to map out a better way forward. I believe deep down that we all hope to be better versions of ourselves and yet recognise that we can not do this alone; nor should we try. I want to be a better guide and fellow traveler on other people’s journeys.

So please reach out and sign up for my free webinars so I can keep you updated on what I am doing and the services I am offering. Sign up via the website.

Dr Richard K. Bernstein. diabetes

Richard K. Bernstein, MD. Physician, Author.

Dr Richard Bernstein broke new ground in the management of type 1 diabetes when he discovered that keeping excellent control of blood glucose levels – through combining a low carb diet with insulin therapy – could make diabetic complications go away.

‘An ordinary diabetic’

Bernstein was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 1946 at the age of 12. In his book Diabetes Solution, he referred to himself as “an ordinary diabetic”, but by the time he turned 30, he was questioning the advice given by the American Diabetes Association (ADA) guidelines.

In 1969, Bernstein was able to obtain one of the first blood glucose meters , which was originally intended for hospital staff to distinguish a diabetes patient from someone who had been drinking heavily.

Bernstein began testing his blood sugar multiple times a day, and started conducting his own research. He found he could normalise his levels through diet, exercise and medication. Within a year, he had refined his insulin dosages to the point that his blood sugar levels were within a normal range for most of the day. Continue reading
