Gemma Kochis, ketosis, Nutrition

Gemma Kochis, co-founder of Keto-Mojo

Gemma graduated from UC Berkeley, headed to a career in diplomacy, but her passion for wine ultimately led her to the wine industry and becoming a certified sommelier. In 2015, the ketogenic lifestyle profoundly changed Gemma’s life. A breast cancer survivor with autoimmune issues, she was a product of the dietary guidelines – a carbaholic who had battled weight her whole life. Shocked at the price of testing ketones, Gemma and her husband Dorian, founded Keto-Mojo in 2017 to give back, bringing down the price of ketone testing by 80%.

They have since attended and spoken at numerous conferences globally, working extensively with the ketogenic community to understand the many facets of the scientific underpinnings which lead to overall medical benefits. They founded the Ketogenic Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity, which fosters Ketogenic Education, Medical Research, and Information. She is now devoted to promoting the efficacy of the ketogenic lifestyle to enable everyone to learn to live a healthy and full life! In this video, she shares her vast knowledge of wine to help you select amazing wines that won’t kick her you of ketosis.

Diane Kopelakis. fatty liver, obesity, T1/T2 diabetes

Diane Kopelakis, M.S., R.D. Registered & Licensed Dietitian, Florida.

Hello there, I'm Diane Kopelakis, M.S., R.D. I call myself “The Evolved Dietitian” because I've had to evolve and reform myself from some significant nutritional falsehoods that we've been fed over the last 50+ years regarding the needs of the human body. I've been able to let go of old and harmful nutrition notions to help heal myself and others.

Professionally speaking, I am a registered and licensed dietitian with 30 years combined experience in clinical dietetics, community nutrition, fitness and wellness coaching with an admiration for alternative medicine and an absolute love for bringing it all together to help others. I've counseled over thousands of clients with a broad-spectrum of health and wellness issues and continue to do so via a functional nutrition-based approach that welcomes various medicinal modes to amplify the body’s response to nutritional therapy. I will continue to evolve with science. Let's evolve together!

Dr Joseph Kraft. Diabetes, heart disease, glucose tolerance

Joseph R. Kraft, MD.

Joseph R. Kraft, MD was a doctor and pathologist and served as Chairman, Department of Clinical Pathology and Nuclear Medicine, St. Joseph Hospital, Chicago, Illinois for 35 years, and was appointed Chairman Emeritus upon retirement.

His book (which is not highly technical and intended for a general audience)   is based on his cumulative experience of 14,384 oral glucose tolerances with insulin assays (now known as “Kraft Tests”) performed at St. Joseph Hospital, Chicago, Illinois from 1972 to 1998.

Dr. Kraft’s major discovery was that glucose tolerance can be totally normal despite insulin levels still being high and that this remains undiagnosed in clinical practice today.  These high insulin levels, known as hyperinsulinemia are essentially early diabetes and increase the risk for a host of chronic diseases.

The full value of this discovery is only beginning to be realized, owing both to the technical and organizational challenge of conducting Kraft Tests at scale and the widespread ignorance of their diagnostic value by both the general public and medical practitioners.
